i have a 94 3.8. the other night on my way home it screeched for just a second than started running rough with the check engine light on. the light flashed a few times then stayed on steady. a code scan showed a misfire (#2 cyl.) and the left bank running rich. the next day i found a broken spark plug. i have since replaced all plugs, wires, coilpack, and one injector on cylinder #2. i have tested all plugs and wires and the ingnition is working fine. the problem is, there is so much gas dumping into the engine that it is pouring out of the muffler(like a faucet)!!!! i have unplugged both temp sensors with no luck. no trouble codes on the computer now. im ready to push it to the end of the driveway and let run till it catches fire. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated> thanks.

i replaced the injector on number cylinder last night, still doing the same thing, i even tried putting a different plug in that cylinder with no avail. a compression test showed that the rings/piston are fine, with 127 psi in that cylinder.

is it possible that the computer might be leaving that injector open?

It has to be an injector that is stuck open or told to remain open by the computer. I can't think of any other way for that much fuel to get into the engine.

While you're working on the problem, keep the amount you run the engine to an absolute minimum. With so much gas in the oil, your oil has to be almost completely emulsified, so it's not protecting the engine from wear very much anymore. As soon as you fix the problem, change the oil and the filter.

right before i got rid of my car i had misfire on cyl #2 as well, except my injector wasnt injecting fuel. i replaced the injector ($160 from ford), plugs ($10), and wires($65). still missing really bad. i couldnt figure it out. i took it to a shop to have it diagnosed (100) and they told me the computer was bad (200) got the new computer and it then ran fine.

i assume its a bad computer, but you can never be sure.
