have question about front strut

I got a 92 GT and im in the middle of replacing my front struts, and i notice that it has four steel washers where the strut bolts to the spindle, do i have to put those back?? or can i go without them?

Do you have the metal spacer plates or did someone use washers instead of the spacers?

I think what he is asking is that if the spacer is between the spindle and struts,you will needs it back in,even if it is a real tight fit ( I seen shops used a hammer and gently tap it back in). There should be 1 spacer on each side of the strut.
