I was having a look again under my car and I am having some issues with my LT header fitment. The driver's side shock tower and the header were in direct contact with each other. The header was removed and it was actually dented where it makes contact. I have Hooker ceramic coated competition headers, part number 6901. Are there any other LT headers that fit closer to the block than these headers? If it turns out that I have swap out these headers, what is a better choice between a shorty and triple Ys? Also, JBA makes some mid-length headers but they are rather spendy at $750. Are there any opinions on those?

Never heard anything but good about these guys:
http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/headers1.htm

You can probably have your present headers modified to fit. If you haven't yet tried, see a good hotrod exhaust guy and have him look at it. You can always have the headers re-coated if they have to be cut/welded.

thanks for the reply. I will give FPT a call and see what they have.

One of the Stangnetters built a header database that might give you some help.

Jerry, I have used FPT for my 70 Mustang. Stan will know what you can use and you can rely on his info.

You are the 3rd to recommend them. I will see if what I have can be used. If not, they go on eBay and I will try with FPT.

BTW, I got the "items" the other day. They seem to be "as advertised" (as later amended).

regards,

JS
