I am sorry if I was not clear enough initially with my intentions, I would not be putting both nitrous and a blower on the motor. The nitrous would be on the motor until I got enough money to put on the blower and then I would swap them out, either that or keep the boost low on the supercharger and then only do like a 50 shot of nitrous for when I go to the track...but I say what is the point if I can up the psi a little and have that power there all the time.

I have been tossing up ideas for the past month or so and I need to make a final decision on what it is I am going to do soon seeing as the track opens up April 1st. One of my co-workers told me I should just build the motor brand new from the bottom up but I don't think I have the knowledge to do that, a top end I could manage but all the tight tolerances in the bottom end intimidate me.

I am probably going to try to find a low mile block and then take it apart and check the clearances on it and see what, if anything, needs to be machined/rebuilt. The same co-worker told me that in his opinion it is very unlikely that my deck will be warped beyond the tolerances because my car was never beat on at all and has never had anything wrong with the engine, all original parts.

I got the car bone stock from a Colonel in the Navy who was the original owner since day 1 so I think the odds are with me that my deck will be fine but I still need to decide if pulling the heads will be worth all the work it takes to find out if I can indeed put a new HCI on my car.

Thanks again for all the help, i appreciate it!

I just checked some prices for building it new and the block + stroker kit would be $2,200 and thats only half the motor...so thats out of my price range.

The only motors I have been finding on craigslist have been around 90k-120k motors so I would sooner take my chance with my motor than buy one of those and be out $400 if it does indeed have a warped deck.

I think it is unlikely that my deck would be warped because of what I said in the post before this one, can anyone else share their opinion on that?

Thanks!

on a mustang dyno which reads about 50hp lower, you will need the nitrous to make that power but if you up the boost you'll hit 450hp/tq....good luck...my old car had twisted wedge heads, gt40 intake, comp cam, 42#inj and 80pro m meter with 14psi made 450 rwhp and 440 rwtq....on a basic car dyno that most places have you'll see 450 with ur h/c/i and 8-10 psi.
