Ok, ive got a carb'd 302 in my 81 capri, just picked up some ported E7's from a 91gt and bolted them to the '78 302 block. now whenever i torque the rockers down it looks to me like its opening the valves. what do i need to do to make this setup work? thanks. pretty sure they are 1.6 rollers but im not sure, they were on the heads when i got them. any ideas?

I have 94 Lightning iron GT 40 heads on a 68 302 in my 82 with stock bolt down rockers that fit fine, with stock pushrods.

When I put it together I got a Crane rocker shim kit in case they were too long, but did not need it.

Definitely check pushrod length.

They fit fine until the heads are milled and who knows how much that is.....only way to know for sure is to measure. If they've been ported, chances are they have been milled...slightly to moderately
