Hey guys when I bought my heads (gt40x aluminum) they called for a certain set of bolts from Ford (I'll have to look for a part # later). I bought those. I have been told by a friend that the GT40X heads are actually 351 heads and that they need sleeves around the bolts when installed on a 302...

Do I need the sleeves for the bolts? There does seem to be a tad bit of play. Should they be snug inside the head bolt hole?
Where do I get the sleeves?
Does this change my torque specifications?

I have a set of head bolts directly from ford and the heads called for this specific set but made no mention of 302 or 351 difference.

Thanks guys I'll get it together one of these days!

Definitly grab the sleeves for those heads , i ended up getting arp 154-3605 ARP 154-3605 - ARP High Performance Series Cylinder Head Bolt Kits and they are snug or just get the 1 that ford racing suggests. Ford Racing Performance Parts [M-6065-D289*]

Yea that ford racing bolt set comes with those sleeves, Includes 20 special stepped washers.

I ended up getting the wrong bolt set and had movement , the bolts were 7/16 and the bolt holes in the heads are 1/2 in. Its snug as a bug now

I belive that you can also purchase these at your local dealer.
