Head/Cam Question

guys dont laugh i dont know so thats y i asking! i know that sohc=single over head cam and dohc= 2 overhead cams! the question is doesnt each head have a cam on it ! so when buying a new cam for a sohc do you need to buy to or one!!!!!

you gotta buy two.....in case you didnt know, sohc=single overhead cam. there is one cam on top of each head. Hope I helped....hehe.

You need to buy two. But most of the good companies like SHM, comp, VT, ect. ect. package them. So when you're buying the cam for around 500-you're getting two. You're set.

DOHC = 2 cams on each head...4 total cams
SOHC = 1 cam on each head...2 total cams
