Head gasket shop manual type questions

Gang -
I must have over torqued my valve covers a while back because they are clearly leaking a bit. I am visiting some friends in Portland and don't have my shop manual but there are a lot of tools. What is the proper torque setting? I have reusable gaskets, would having over torqued them three years ago destroyed them or should I be ok to use them again after resetting the covers? Thanks guys.
Side note: I fixed the EGR problem I was having thanks to Jrichtr. I was able to trace it to a bad sensor. I drove from San Francisco to Portland yesterday and got 26.6 MPG. On sunday I'll be going all the way from Portland to Santa Barbara on a single shot. Great car. Thanks for helping me keep it running.

If you have crushed the rubber seal then the gaskets are trash, I want to say the tq spec is 10-13ftlbs. I usually do them in a crossing pattern and just snug them and have no issues, cant tell you last time I torqued a VC gasket.
