Hey, I am getting ready to start porting these heads on Sat. I noticed that the Exhaust valve guide boss is really big. Should I grind this down into the wall? Has anyone ever removed it completely? I have read a couple of articles but I can't really see if they have ground it down all the way or not. Thanks

I've seen someone do this before, I think it was done by Powerheads, but don't qoute me, I don't think he has any problems, but I highly suggest you don't do it, you might end up with scratched valves later on, which is bad....

You can safely remove the exhaust boss and angle the roof of the port/bowl, so the angle is flat and to the back of the bowl. Or as the roof of the port starts out from the outside ( Header mount) it will now be flat all the way to the back of the bowl!! ( Egr bump removed and the lower exhaust bowl) a good straight shot !! Cool?? Fun huh??
