i am fixing to put in a set of bbk shorty headers i have. i am going to use the mr gasket ultra seal gaskets, but what header bolts do you recommend? i hear a lot on the stage 8 locking header bolts but for 40 bucks a set, is there anything almost as good a little cheaper? what do you guys use

The reason they are so expensive is because they shouldnt back out. I got arp ones but lost 2 already. :( You can use stock ones just make sure to tigten them often after normal driving. Then if you go to the track and REALLY heat up the car check them again.

For how much of a pain it is to get at a couple of the bolts on each side, I say spend the extra on locking bolts. I got Breslin stainless steel bolts, 1" long. If you don't get locking bolts, at least get some 1" bolts (assuming they will fit, which I think they should - but measure to be sure). 1" bolts will hold much better than the 3/4" or whatever come with the BBK's (my BBK LT's came with bolts shorter than 1")

Yea i was also told 1" holds better than 3/4"(which is what usually comes with the headers)
