The car:
1966 Mustang
The weight: about 2800 with me in it

The drivetrain:

331 stroker 9.5:1 compression
RPM Intake
Speed Demon 650 carb
Trickflow stage 2 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft
Trickflow O-ringed heads - not ported

2600rpm stall converter
Built C4 with a Reverse Manual Valve body

3.55 posi rear end

125 shot of Nitrous

My original set up was almost the same as above except I had some killer ported heads, a much bigger camshaft, a vic jr intake, and no 125 shot.

With the original combo I was going to use a 1 3/4" primary header. Now, I have been trying to sell those headers to get something a little smaller. HOWEVER, now that I am going to run a 125 shot and I will probably port - match my intake and heads (both intake and exhaust sides, do youo think the 1 3/4" primary headers will be ok or should I still downgrade to a 1 5/8"? I would REALLY like to keep the big tubes if possible. The engine will spin to about 6500 rpms. Car is used as a weekend cruise, a little bit of track time.

Suggestions?

keep the 1 3/4" headers...first off you are gonna lose money sellin them and you already have them. Sounds like your motor is gonna put out about 450hp on the juice. My N/A 393 stroker was recommended by a race motor builder to use 1 3/4" primary headers. I had it dynod on 1 5/8" and 1 3/4". I lost about 10hp on the dyno with 1 5/8". My motor made 450hp and 500ft lbs

Where did you get thoes 1 3/4 headers? I would like to get some for my 66 but i didnt think anybody made 1 3/4 headers for the 65-66. If you do sell them, how much would you be asking?
Hooker supercomp headers PN 6208-1 for a 351w. I believe it will work but they hang low

Blue66Tang....

They have been for sale for a month now in the classic classifieds section. I got them from cprparts.com. They were $749 + shipping with no hardware and no collectors. I think I am going to keep them.
