hey, i need to know what kind of bolts to get to fit perfectly. the bolts that go down through the header and attaches to the end of the h-pipe. i have a 85 gt but i got a used h-pipe and a set of headers off a 88 mustang gt. is there a special kind you can buy, like maybe at a ford dealership. Im sick of this thing leaking all the time. my homemade bolt job just dosent do the trick. thanks.

I think they were a stud with a spring on them to allow for some flex. If the headers have been drilled out for bolts to slide through you may be out of luck. Use a good grade 8+ bolt and make sure everything is lined up straight before you tighten it down.

oh, i forgot, did the headers come with a thread in them, where the bolts go down through or was it just a hole.

Mine took 7/16 coarse thread studs. The only place I could find them was Auto Zone. Hope this helps.

arp and bbk makes a header stud kit for this very situation. The arp's will cost you a testical, but the bbk's are only $15 or so. Brothers sells them. just call up up and ask for the bbk header stud kit for the header-to-h pipe.
