Yes, I know that it works.....and it looks kinda cool too. I've heard bad things about it though.....like it'll rust your headers prematurely and stuff like that because it holds moisture in.

What he said. They work, yes. But they will make your headers rust from holding in moisture, and header wrap voids all header manufactures warranty

Just get the headers Jet Hot coated and be done with it. Keep the heat in, don't produce sitting moisture, and look good too.

It's not something you do yourself. You'd have to send them to Jet Hot themselves to do it, or have a local place that does ceramic coating/powder coating.

How would the stock headers hold up with header wrap? They don't rust out even after a couple hundred thousand miles since they are 409 stainless. They get surface rust and look nasty but they stay whole.

Most places that coat headers only do the outside so be very careful who you go to for this. Jet Hot coats the inside and the outside so you won't have the rust problems you do with others.

Wrapping headers with the cloth or tape will significantly reduce underhood temperatures, however, the extreme heat will generally burn the carbon from the tubing and extensive radial cracking will occur. Not to mention all kinds of rust. Typically you can expect a 2% to 3% loss in hp from the rust that forms overnight in a new set of headers. Compound that over the 100k miles you probably will want to put on them and you'll be buying new headers in no time.

they hold the heat in and don't let it cool off, not a good idea on a street car...race only is good to go though
