Ok, so i'm looking to replace my stock headers with something a little more fancy

So my question is, if my headers are stock then i'll have to replace them with the same size, correct?

I'm assuming this size is short pipe, but if this is the case are they equal or unequal length?

Thanks,

-will

Both will work, equal length are "supposed " to give a bit more power, but they are also harder to put on. You will need to lift the passenger side of the motor up about 1/2 to 1" to fit it in. unequal's are pretty straight forward.

LONGTUBES FTW!!! That is what you want if you want fancy!!!!! But if they are not an option then unequal are you ONLY option unless you like burnt plug wires all the time...get unequal shorties or longtubes ONLY

If you get equals, make sure you carry an extra set of plug wires in your trunk.

I have Equal length ones on my car now.

When I do my new motor this winter, they are going bye bye, and some unequals are going on.
The equals are just such a pain in the arse to work around.

Equals =

LongTubes are great for 5 speed cars. I won't even consider them on an AODE car. Even though they are doable.

Ceramic-coated BBK shortie unequals FTW!

LT's will promote more low/mid range torque

Of course you got the ground clearance if lowered
and
Smog laws with them

If you wanna go shorties ... I'd go with regular old unequal length

LT's or unequal are the only way to go and get the ceramic coated ones its worth the extra money!

LT's on a AODE VERT FTW

equal length shorties are one of the most painful mods out there. they burn wires and make it next to impossible to get to the plugs

long tubes are great, but they have their downsides as well as already pointed out.

go mid-length. that is the perfect compromise. i'm getting some as soon as my tranny issues are straightened out
