headers for the explorer gt40 heads

does anyone know where to get headers for the explorer gt40 heads??? All the sudden i cant remember if they are p or x heads, but you know the ones off the explorer that need special headers.

could be wrong, but it hink those are X...anyone want to correct me?

I think the 1995 explorers had the X heads (normal headers) and the 1996+ had the P heads (special headers required). There are about 2 companies that make P compatible headers for classic mustangs. One was Central Coast (CA) Mustang I think. There is some P head info in the articles on http://www.stangpro.com/

My dad has a set of P headers on a 65 coupe with a 351. The headers are made by Hooker, but it did take a little modification to make them fit. Nothing that a cutoff wheel and a wire feed welder cant take care of.

I have the gt40p heads on my 68. I also have MAC long tube headers that fit without anyissuses other than the plugs look fun to get at (then again what headers are easy to get at the plugs) but everything clears.

I find it easier to get at my plugs with my headers than with the stock manifold. But that's just me.
