I recently put a 351W in my 1967 Fastback, because of the height and width of the motor. I have had to overcome and parts of my car to make this fit. Such as the hood, intake deck height, air cleaner, etc…. but one thing that I just cannot figure out is the headers to use on this. I have a set of stock Exhaust Manifolds on the motor right now, but with the engine rock it rubs against the steering box. Has anyone run into this problem before?? What type of headers should I go with??

Well, on my coupe, I used a set of Hedman 1 5/8". They were tight, but they fit and didn't hit anything (although you could only fit a beer coaster (sideways of course) between the header and and the PS control valve ).

Any headers for a 69-70 351w mustang will fit. I run hooker headers on my 67.

You will pay dearly but I think J.B.A. makes a shorty header for this application and they are dabomb.

I called hooker about this and they said 6901's will fit just fine.

I put Hedmann Elite's (ceramic coated long-tubes) on my 67 with 351W, no issues at all in fact I did it in less than 20 minutes per side. There's plenty of room by the shock towers, did not interfere with aftermarket rack and pinion and ground clearance is great. They are the same ones used in 69/70 351W applications as stated above. Here's a few pics that show them.

Yep, that's them. I'm glad I went with the ceramic coated as well.

C-6?

I looked up the 6901s through Hooker Headers. but they say these cannot be setup on a 351W with a C-6 Transmission. I have a C-6 Transmission, is this going to be a issue??

Also the Hedman Elite Headers?? Where can find them, Im interested in those too.
