Mustang GT Fog Light Fix

If that article doesnt mention it, to have the fog lights operational when the marker lights are on, you change the fog light switch's feed to the parking light wire on the headlight switch (a brown wire IIRC).

I would use a 1-3 amp fuse on this wire you add and tap into the parking light circuit (a 30 amp SPST/SPDT relay-coil generally draws under one amp).

Good luck.

I tried to tap into the parking lights to give the fogs power but there are 3 brown wires, well 2 brown 1 brown/white. from what i understand the blue/black wire from the fogs need to go to a brown but where does the other fog wire tap into? a ground. sorry im probably way off track.

There might be two parking light feeds leaving the switch (going different directions eventually). You always check any wire you're going to tap into with a DMM or at least a test light. The correct wire will become hot when the parking lights are selected (even if the dimmer is turned off) and stay hot while the headlights are also on.

On the foglight switch, one wire will go to the parking lights, functioning as the new power source for the switch (as noted above).

The other leg will now be going to the relay-coil on the relay you're adding.

Must you add a new relay my lights dont flicker or any of that mentioned above. i guess they probably will but i dont really want to go out and buy a relay, wires, crimp conectors, ect.

If you never use your fog lights, then there's no real point to doing it.

There isn't an old relay - there's none at all.

If you want to save aggravation in the future (after the circuit overheats), it would be wise to do this now (since it will end up being done anyhow).

I would see if you have a friend who enjoys doing electrical installs (since you don't have supplies, we might assume you don't). The repair will probably be easier and more robust that way. And be sure to solder the connections for longevity.

Good luck.

yeah im not big into electrical things i got tired a fixing things like this in my old prelude. I do use my foglights everyday though so that was the reason i was wanting to control them separately. Thanks for the help you always seem to know what your talking about.
