Hey I have a question. I just picked up an 1989 gt with edelbrock heads, e303 cam, Edelbrock Preformer rpm Intake, 75mm mass air, 24 pound injectors, Electric fan, pullies, BBK headers full exhaust with a T-5 tranny and 3:73 gears. I bought this car for $1700.00 because it had some body dammage nothing major. I was wondering if the power that I have would be similiar to that of a stock 5.0 motor with a supercharger. Also, how much power does this combo put out and should I be able to run 12s in the 1/4.

That combo should be worth about 70ish more HP than stock. so, its equivalent to 7-8 psi of boost. If the motor is in good shape, a nice novi 1000 pullied to 8psi on your motor would be AMAZING!

as for currently, the combo you have should get you into the high 12s w/traction or driving.

Actually there are basically stock Stangs (lighter fox bodies) with exhaust, lots of gear and lots of traction that run solidly into the 12's - with traction yours should easily run 12's.

Naturally aspirated vs. boosted is largely a matter of choice. There are pros and cons either way. If the engine is in solid shape, it's hard to beat simply upgrading the fuel system, and adding boost to the stock motor. It works quite well, maintains near stock drivability, and if you can keep your foot out of it/have a good tune, fuel mileage doesn't suffer much at all. That usually can't be said about h/c/i combos that produce comparable HP to a boosted stock set up.
