Heads/Cams being installed... Question

Guys I apologize if this information exists in another thread, but I'm at work so I can't search for long amounts of time. I just want to know if there's anything else I should be ordering to ensure this install happens in one shot. I am doing the install with my cousin at his shop, but we're doing it next week and hopefully finishing in one full day. I ordered the following

VT stage II heads
VT stage I cams
BBK full length longtubes
BBK shorty offroad X

I know the VT stage II heads do not come with lifters or rockers, so I am going to have to reuse the stock ones. What else should I be ordering to go with this setup? Gaskets? Bolts? Ive never done a head/cam swap on my motor before so any insight is appreciated.
I just dont want to get all the goods , go to install it and find out, ****, I need to change this, or great... now I have to overnight that.

Pick up a Ford cylinder head changing kit (M-6067-D46) - this has cylinder head gaskets, bolts, exhaust manifold gaskets, and dip stick tube. Get new PI gaskets and locking header bolts as well. If you don't have a handheld tuner, you should get one as well or at least get a chip burned to hold you over til you can get tuned. Make sure you run a couple tanks of 93 or 91 in your car prior to installing all this, so you can get a 93/91 tune. Did you figure out if you need to degree the cams, or does VT send them installed in the head? You may need new cam gears. Thats all I can think of, im sure there are other things though.

Well do the cams absolutely need to be degreed, even if they are straight up on both sides? My cousin was telling me adjustable gears may not be necessary if the cams are installed identical on both sides of the engine.

well, I just thought it was good practice to at least check them, and degree as necessary. If you're gonna put this much cash/work into your car, you may as well be 100% sure that everything is going to run smoothly when the car first starts, and for many more miles. Id hate to see you start the engine and get a lot of ptv or run into some other problem. Be meticulous, thats the only way to truly do something right. Good luck man

Probelm is that the stock cam gears can be machines with like +/- 5 degrees on timing. You wont have PTV if installed straight up, but it will never run to its potential if you dont degree them.

that about covers it
VT cams are not known to cause PTV but like said you should atleast check the degree...I'm using VT cams but still bought Fidanza Adj Cam Gears because i don't want to take a chance or leave any HP unused.

No one mentioned needing to get new springs yet, since you're going with the Stage 2 cams from VT

he's getting stage 2 heads, stage 1 cams

Thanks guys, about to order the gaskets and the cam gears.. next week Im having a "custom tune" mailed to me by a reputable tuner around here until i can get on his dyno. He is giving me the tune for no charge with the SCT Xcal II and hes going to dyno tune it himself when he gets back in town.

The excitement builds!
