I noticed in the classified section that tere are a few adds for 66 289 heads. Maybe they are for the classic clasified but it made me wonder. Would they work as a low budget upgrade. What are the flow differences between an 89 302 crown vic head and the 66 289 head. I know the copression would be higher and you would need different springs for the roller cam.
And while I am on the subject what do you think is the best street upgade head. And why. I also noticed a few Ford racing heads for sale.
From reading I thought the Trick Flow twisted wedge were a good choice. The 2.02 valves rotated so no piston interference. I am not sure how much benfit there would be to good flowing heads. Especially if you bring up the rpm's to use the flow and launch the lower end.
