i would match the cam to the heads, not the other way around. but, that cam should work fine with most aftermarket street heads.

Your cam and intake are decent for sure. If your on a budget, really consider getting some GT40 or GT40p heads. They would work well with your setup now, and you would def feel the difference. Also is the car SD or MAF? carbed or fuel injected?

Its carbed it has a 600 cfm eldebrock with electric choke no emmisons or anything the 5.0 is in a 97 what ised to be a v6 automatic stang now its v8 5 spd which was done alright but then the guy ripped out the fuel tank and threw a fuel cell in the truck which was rediculous but the tranny and clutch ect was done pretty good

The intake you have is a good intake. The cam is OK, I run one but wish I had gone with something else.
Go with a Trickflow head if you've got the money. If you're wanting to save some money and get a good entry level head, you can get some Edelbrock heads, but don't run the Eddy valve springs. They're junk.
But if you can, Trickflow heads FTW.
And with any aftermarket head, you're going to have to check piston to valve clearance, and some aftermarket heads use stud mount rockers arms and not pedestal. So pay attention to that. If you also decide you want a different ratio rocker arm while you're in there, you're going to have to check push rod length and you have to get hardened push rods.
FYI stock heads use a pedestal mount rocker arm, and I THINK Trickflow heads use pedestal mount set ups. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. And Eddy heads use stud mount rocker arms, at least the E-Street heads do

Are you positive you need 93 octane?
Even with a head swap, your compression shouldn't be that high, and if you use aluminum heads, you can grow a point of compression without upping your octane (as a rule of thumb). Just saying that you could save money and boost performance if you don't need 93. Too much octane hurts performance.

Edit
Nevermind.
I just saw someone put dome pistons in the engine.
Kinda overkill IMO, but it is what it is I suppose.

You can get E-brocks in both flavors...

We have the Performers on one of our 5.0s, and they are pedestal.
I think those are the ONLY E-brocks you can get in pedestal though.
If you want more than a 170 head, and must have E-brocks, you will have to go with stud mounts.
