I have a 97GT and i have started installing a set of 02PI Expedition Heads 5.4L. Well the heads are on and I am trying to install the timing chain cover and for some reason some of the old bolts are too small and they dont fit in the heads. I was wondering if someone can please help me out get the right size. I talked to Randy and he helped me out a lot. But I need more of the bolts (the two sided bolts). I guess other accessories attach to the other side.

I have attached a pic, but I have more if you would like to see.

THanks

Your old heads are 8mm the new bolts are 10mm. There is a kit you can buy from ford that has the right studs etc...PM 96mustangjames he just bought this kit maybe he has the part #. I just got some 10mm bolts to make mine work

Thanks. I will do that. I got some 10mm bolts but its a tight fit. I was told to get 10mm with 1.5pitch and 55mm in length. Is that what you got? Thats what i got and its a very tight fit, so hopefully it wont cause a problem.

The two sided bolts (studs) are Ford p/n N808140-S309 and the standard Ford 10mm bolts for the swap are p/n N808142-S309. The studs come in a package of two and the bolts come in threes. I have two new studs and five new 10mm bolts left over from my swap, pm me if you need them.

that sounds like the only possibility? Must be they went back to the 10mm on the romeo heads?

There is a compression bump that gives a little extra because the 96-98 GT's have a smaller dish in their pistons, so around 50-60 hp.

Did you have to replace the bolts. I'm about to put 2000 PI heads on a 98 GT. If so, were there any leaks?

Thx
