Well my heat is not working to well now. I checked the heater core and it still flows well. The Heat starts out hot then after 10 seconds drops to mediocre(still enough to de fog/defrost the windows).

Is it the heater core or could it possibly be something different. I really dont want to tear apart the dash at this time of the year.

I would say your engine isn't getting hot enough to put out that much at the heater core. Check your temp gauge like red_lx said and if it stays low you should check to make sure your thermostat isn't stuck open.

IF the engine is heating up properly, then you need to check the position of the outside/recirculate door in the heater duct. If this is stuck open, it will have the effect of letting in cold air. 2nd possiblity IS the heater core. It CAN seem to flow well and be partially plugged.

Well, the heat in my mustang was kinda like that. I won't argue that the heater core wasn't partially clogged, but my car had a 180 degree thermostat and I noticed that it seemed to take forever to warm up, it didn't really get THAT warm, and the heat didn't blow very warm until the car had been running for awhile.
