I'm having the hardest time getting those 3 pesky heater control cables hooked back up - so that they actually slide around correctly.

Is there a trick to this? Does anybody have a photo that can show me how they're supposed to be attached to the heater core/plenum?

Thanks!

Yeah, I've done that - what I'm confused about is how far in the cables need to be connected to the little posts. Check the picture below - it's those two marked areas I'm confused about. I've attached the cables there, but they don't seem to slide back & forth properly ..

What do you mean exactly by slide back and forth properly. If they're just stiff then use some WD40. Any other problem can only be on the control panel, the wires and the levers on the heaterbox and plenum themselves are pretty simple, not much can go wrong there.

Edit: nvm, I posted right after you did, glad you got it figured out :D

I have almost the same problem that you had on my 67, I hope you can help me with mine. I´m trying to install the heater and defroster cables. But I´ve forgot which way under the dash they go, I´ve big problems to get the right lenght of the cables from the heater/defroster to the controls left of the steering wheel. Do you or anyone else have any picture or could anyone explain where the cables should go :)
