I am not for sure if anyone else has had tons of problems with this but I sure as hell have. I have a 99GT and since I have owned lets say I have replaced maybe 7-8 heater cores. And is the same thing over and over agian, does fine until the heat is cranked then the stupid thing starts smoking the windows over and leaking drops of antifreeze threw the heater ducts on the driver side. Now I will bypass this and park it for the winter but it sadens me that I will have no damn heat. And I grounded it becasue of the electrosis problem I was told was wrong with it but it did not seem to work. So does anyone of you genius modular guys have a explanation for wtf my car is doing this? If so I would apprciate it so very much.

What kind of sealant are you using when you put the heater core back in? If you don't use something flexible, the heater core will just crack the first time it tries to expand.

Secondly, if nobody's mentioned this to you, the foxbody's have a reducer piece you're supposed to put in the input hose when you swap heater cores the first time.. I'm not sure if we have one for our style or not.. but it slows down the rate that coolant that can flow in. There's a TSB out there somewhere, but the reducer can be bought from a dealership for pretty cheap.

It does'nt really matter. If it is on low they still end up going out.

WOW 7 heater cores. i have never heard of anything like this. did you pressure test them after you took them out to see where the leaks are coming from.

is something in the blower case hitting the core??

I never put them in myself, always had the shop do it. I did see them and it looks to overheating almost maybe that is making them crack. I will check and see if the blower is hitting it as well.

You might want to remove the insult that Kilgore Trout made, I dont think it really helped asking what color antifreeze I use?

Ford dealership put in a OEM I assume. But the others where ordered from car quest and installed by smalltown mechanic so that could have somthing to do with it. But I can not explain the oem ford one?
