Heater Core Question

its a sad day when your heater core goes out. Which is what happened to my 99 Cobra.

In reading the repair manual, it is imperative to disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes before attempting to work with the airbag system (for obvious reasons). When I had the a/c discharged the Tech at the shop mentioned that I need to 'lock' the steering wheel before ripping out the dash. He was talking about a pin or lock point underneath the column.... which I looked for and could not find what the heck was he was talking about? When he was saying in the 'lock' position, did he mean when the steering wheel locks into place with the key out ? I don't have to actually go underneath the column and lock it ?

I really don't want to start work on this and then to find out when I try to start the car when I am all done to have the airbag deploy and break an arm or something else vital :D

Help.... :)

Thanks.
