the car is a 2003 Gt,
The heater hose that goes from the intake to the heater core blew off on me today. the car was driving fine before this.
What could have caused this? just a bad hose?
Oil looked good, and no weird sounds.

Either a bad clamp. Or possibly an obstruction in the heater core or return hose. If it's an obstruction then you're lucky the heater core didn't burst. Before you just replace the hose & clamp I'd remove the hose from the other side of the heater core. Then use a garden hose to push water through the heater core in both directions. If it flows fine then it was probably just the clamp.

Did it blow off at the plastic t? If it did look inside the hose to see if part of the t broke. It should have two barbs on each side.

... but do NOT use the full pressure or you will rupture the core or something else. The idea is just to check for a reasonable flow so open the tap gently/slowly and have the cap off the rad tank. Don't open the tap fully or the system can be overpressured.
