I have a 4.6 DOHC motor and am working on my evaporator and heater core and wondered if anyone knew which of the 2 metal hardlines coming off the back of the motor was the outlet and inlet for the heater core.

1 line goes directly into the block and the other under the intake manifold to the front of the motor. I am assuming that the one to the front of the block is the pressure side and the other is the return?

I'll take any input I can get - thanks!!

I believe the hard line going to the front of the engine is the return line. It goes to the water pump.

So...

back of the head ---> heater core IN -----> heater core OUT ----> hard line to front..

So, you have HOT coolant from the back of the head going into your heater core, then it gets returned to the pump and recirculated..

I *think*...
