screw that man, i say you can still take him. Nitrous is all about peak power in my opinion - you can't spray from launch through 110mph - while your S/C is working full time. Hell i just took a 300zx last night w/ just exhaust who was spraying without telling me before the race. Only found out once he purged it lol. matter of fact i took him twice in a row, although given i don't know what kinda shot he was spraying and he sucks ass at driving.

You can spray whenever you want if you have a properly done setup (progressive controller for instance). Centri blowers only work greater than 3,000-3,500rpm, infact when not producing boost the actually rob some power

If you wanna know how you'll stand up to this V6...just RACE it! Take it to the track though, don't need anymore street racing arrests (or worse crashes) in the world.

silver, chrome 18 or 19" rims. Tinted. Although i know someone running a silver w/ black rims - though i dont believe he runs nitrous.

You have a supercharged 4.6. He has a nice NA 4.2. You have nothing to worry about at all.

EDIT: Just noticed the 100 shot I guess its not as straight forward as I thought. I still say you win though. Whos got what for tires? Its all about who can put the power down.

I got challenged by this '98 V6 Mustang. Sure it's a V6 but it's serious. I used to work with the guy a few years ago so I know he's not BS'n.

It's got the following mods:

Built 4.2L truck motor
ported stock heads and intake
CAI
cam
LT Headers
Catted H pipe and catback
3.73 gears
100hp shot of nitrous.

He won't tell me how much power he's putting down. I'm guessing over 300rwhp.

You have a supercharged V8 and you are worried about a V^ with a 100 shot? That's crazy. If the V6 doesn't grenade during the run (which will be done on a track I assume) then you should still win easily.

Don't run off your mouth, just race him and walk him. Maybe one day your pal will save up and get an 8 piston engine.

wow mrvax, i thought you knew better. a properly set up 4.2L V6 can be as strong as a stock PI 2V. nitrous will make more torque than a S trim at 10lbs. on top of that, the V6 is lighter by a few hundred pounds. everything else being equal, neither car will easily beat the other.

still tho, what would you hope to expect to see from a v-8 stang w/ some head work, cams and full bolt ons? about 315hp 320-330 or so tq (generous imho)? So w/ a 100 shot living up to an actuall 100tq here (not ever likely) it puts a v-8 stang at 430tq. So this 430 tq is 10 less than a v-6 w/ the same mods!?!?! - you cant honestly tell me you think head work w/ cams and full bolts ons will put a v-6 at 340tq.

uhhhm....heres some numbers from a friends recent n/a vs. 100 shot pull

car has:

Magnaflow O/R X-Pipe
Magnaflow Catback
K&N FIPK GEN II
Roy's Composite Instake Spacer
Steeda Tri-Ax
Spec Stage 3 Clutch
SCT Chip
Custom Tune
and a 100 shot

car made

N/A - 286.73hp 304.19tq

Nitrous - 393.32hp 491.79tq

the 100 shot is usually what it makes in hp or close too it....the tq is usually almost double the shot (if setup properly)

Talked to a friend of his. He told me he puts down 242hp to the wheels with no nitrous. With nitrous he's at 329 to the wheels with the 100 shot and 376 with the 150 shot. Yup, he told me he's running a 150 shot now and lied to me about the 100 shot. I think I'm screwed.

Seems like I wasn't too far off. I still stand by initial opinion, with 100shot he'll get you off the line but you will easily pass him. With 150, it will be more of a driver's race. Let us know how it goes.

I might have edged him just a bit. It was too close to call. We were both on street tires. I wasn't spinning too much, my 315's probably helped. He was runnin 275's on a 9 inch wide rim and was fish tailing at the start. He was only running the 100 shot for the race. He told me, last time he ran the 150 shot he burned up a piston.

This is also the last race for his car. Next month he told me he's gonna part it out. He still has the stock 3.8 which he'll put back in and sell the 4.2, nitrous kit, and exhaust. Then afterwards he'll trade it in for a Dodge Challenger which he's been waiting to get ever since he saw the concept.

Why didn't you do it at the strip and get it on video?

I imagine Cali is strict when it comes to street racing, even more so than other states.

Yeah the NOS numbers look a little high as well to me. Not too much but high nevertheless.
