Hello everyone, this is my first post.

Im an old honda guy. I got into the things back when i was 16 and began building them for a hobby. I guess it was due to the fact my parents wouldnt let me get a faster car to start out with or whatever. But after nearly 10 years of tinkering with them im sick of em. Dont get me wrong they are fun cars and all, but im looking for more power.

Ive had a 12.30 all motor 2.0 liter civic weighing in at under 2000 lbs with gas and driver, and ive driven 600 whp 2000lb civics and its just not cutting it. Alot of my friends are into mustangs and one even has a car he competes with in renegade? i believe class?

Anyhow, i concidered working on a nissan 240 for the rwd factor, but after much thought ive come to the conclusion that 99 percent of the people into import performance cars are total idiots. Its either some dumb ass kid with his neon tubes and 19 inch wheels, or some rapper trying to start a fight with you at the local cruise inns because you didnt give his space ship on wheels a thumbs up when he passed. It just seems when i got into it it was enjoyable, it occupied my time, and now its just for juvanile dilinquents. Besides thats not the point, the point is rather than waste all my time working on somthing thats 1.8 liters id rather just work on somthing 4x the size. Sure you can turbocharge them but you can turbocharge a mustang also.I just rebuilt the entire 2.0 motor from 10:1 compression to 13.5:1 compression, cams, headwork, gearing, spent 10 hours tuning it myself on a wideband, and average power gain was 30 whp. It sounded like alot at the time, but it was a joke. I just have all these parts now i need to rook off to get started on a real car.

Im looking into a 99 newer 6 cyl shell with high milage. And planned on doing a modular cobra engine and the suspension off of the cobra as well. If i could afford the monthly insurance on the cobra id go get one this afternoon, but thats not the case. Later plans include most definatly a sheetmetal intake manifold, and a large single turbo.

Anyhow sorry for the winded post, i just wanted to tell a little about myself and make some stang buddies, since the majority of the people i talk to are into 4 cylinders telling me " just turbocharge your car" and honestly im sick of messing with em and even being associated with the pack of focking riceboys.

Thanks for the bandwidth, and its a pleasure to be a new part of the forum.

Welcome to Ford. The movie Fast and the Furious was one of the worst things that happened to the entire auto industry. The next day every teenager with a beater was at Pep Boys buying neons,Fart pipes,4 foot tall wings and every product sticker they could get there slimy little hands on. It did'nt matter that the stickers did'nt represent actual products on there car , they just slapped them on anyways. :bang: Maybe each sticker added 10 HP. The entire car world has been polluted by morons. :nonono: Every time I hear a ricer buzzing around me like a bee I want to Vomit. :barf: I've been in the stang game for 7 years, ever since I bought mine new, and all I can say is the most of the guys i've met are dedicated to racing and have a true respect for the American V8 Musclecar. :flag:

Don't take this the wrong way, but not all import drivers are pricks that don't know jack about real power. I have a very good friend with a 2000 Handa SI, and he knows more about building them up and keeping them looking good. He has no ricey body kits and no spoiler if you can believe that. All it has is Blue paint, 20% window tint and a carbon fiber hood (not a ricey one). I do know what you are talking about tho with rice boys putting spupid body kits and retarted spoilers with stickers all over them. Just don't put all imports in the same bracket. It should not be Chevy vs. Ford vs. Import. Just Nice vs. Rice.

With that said.

Welcome to stangnet I hope you can learn as much as I am. Best of luck with the Cobra power plant in the V-6 body. Might i sugest Subframe connectors before you even try to drive it. I belive the Cobra has some things in them stock to prevent flex. Also might i sugest you getting the 03/04 blown 4.6 becaust it sounds like you know how to tune your stuff and thos cars have been put into the 9s already. and with a smaller blower pulley, drag radials, and taking out the spare tiar and jack you could run 11s, but on the other hand i know turboed SOHC 4.6 is nuts. Either way i want to see pictures of how you do the turbo.

i will agree, not every Import is riced out. It goes the same for Mustangs. Im a die hard mustang fanatic. But I've seen some Mustangs that have been just as bad as the Hondas.

But enough with the opinions... Welcome to Stangnet.
