so hes back to that again.. oh lord. It's a shame though, 5.0 talk was probably one of the more reasonably sane funny 5.0 forums on the e-net. Most of the others ones are "does my car run on gas or diesel"

It takes 2 or 3 years to "educate" people about what has been asked, proper manners and sometimes how to communicate intelligently. A lot of them don't last long enough to complete the learning process.

Daggar (Andy) had an unspecified disagreement with the management and decided to leave. I have missed his influence and input, but others may not have.

That's the understatement of the year.

Think of it this way.
You are used to using forums, but previously you owned a corvette.
Now you have a foxbody.

you come here and the first thing you see (and it literally is the first thing that catches my eye) is this:
901 pages of garbage. might as well be 13 year olds here.
http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=662624&page=943
Might want to delete that jricker.

Like mentioned above, the problem is all the idiots (mostly kids) taking over. The number of stupid/ignorant members, threads, and posts is increasing daily. Most of them are completely oblivious because they end up posting in threads like this claiming they agree. That 943 page thread used to be amusing but it seems that has been mostly taken over by these people as well. It was going downhill for a while but has gotten much worse since daggar left.

wow, I wanna say I agree, but I dont want to sound like one of those pointless idiots. I've actually started hanging out at corral more, but most of those guys act like you dont exist if you dont have a big stroker and run 10's. mustang boards arent really that fun and unfortunately informative these days. I am tired of seeing photoshop requests, wannabe vid clips, and people that keep pic whoring the same stuff over and over again. I miss Andy, he did a great job running things and I thought he had an awesome sense of humor.
Bad92, glad to see you stopped by. you have one of my all time fave sn95's. that thing is super sleek!

His sense of humor is what I miss as well. He's a smartass like me. He normally posted exactly what I was thinking. The people that got him, liked him. Those that did not, thought he was a dick.

And the ones that didn't get him are the ones causing problems, imagine that one!

The problem is you can't go around just banning people or censoring what they say. I agree there is a lot of immaturity on the forums, but *most* of it isn't technically against stangnet rules.

Also, us mods don't read every single thread. Usually we check in one which starts off as a perfectly good thread and we never check it again only to find it's gone to hell in a handbasket with childish remarks. We do count on some of you to hit the "report thread" button to give us a heads up on that sort of stuff. We can't read every post.

Even though Stangnet is a private forum, we also can't police them to the point where only threads we deem acceptable are allowed to exist. We don't want to become thread Nazi's. Then again, take a stroll over to another certain Mustang website (name to remain undisclosed) and you'll see things here are FAR tamer.

I know some would like to see things a little less immature here, but if the posts are fine by stangnet's policy, not a whole lot we can do. I for one don't want to start censoring people at all.

I've been around for a while, and Stangnet goes on cycles. You'll get a period of time where there are a bunch of good guys and everything is great, and then you'll get a time when you get some immature people and things go downhill a little. Evetually the swing goes the other way and it's good again. It's happened before, and it will keep happening.

But like said many dozens of times before, if you see a post or thread you deem questionable, hit "report to mod" or send I or one of the other Mod's here a PM and we'll take a look. I know there are a lot of regulars here and these are also your forums too and there are little things like that you can do to help "clean up"

5.0 tech is usually kept to stricter standards. If it's not tech related, it doesn't belong there period. I'd like to see 5.0 talk try to stay Mustang-related in topics, but it's not always the case. I do agree that the 5.0 boards have regulars that do not visit the other forums or the lounge so it's their place to kick back as well.

BTW, I am not a fan of the 900+ page thread myself personally.
