Hello all. Looking to buy a new mustang and have been lurking on here and mustangforums.com reading all the great information. I'm looking at two 2011 GT's. One automatic and one 6 speed. I know go for the 6 speed but with the wife and stop and go traffic in the big city it might be a hard sell. Taking her to the dealership tomorrow to drive both so fingers crossed.

Test drove both tonight for the first time. I have to admit I originally went out looking for a Camaro 2SS/RS but after driving it I was shattered. The visibility is horrible and I felt uncomfortable in the car.

Next was the Challenger SRT8. Very nice but after lurking on their forums I discovered so many problems with the engines it scared me off. Sad because with kids I really liked the room.

Then today a buddy says did you check out the new Mustang? I say no. And call a couple dealers in the area to check them out. Dealt through email and when I got close to a good price I went in for a test drive.

Drove the auto first. GT Premium, very nice. Fit like a glove. Am a little worried about the back seat with kids though.

Then drove the 6 speed with 3.73. gears and a short throw shifter. WOW, very nice.

Thinking I'm getting a decent deal. The MSRP on the auto is $36,080 and I have a quote of $32,862 plus TTL. The 6 speed has an MSRP of $35,480 and the quoted $32,262 + TTL. Any input on if these are good deals would be appreciated.

Taking the wife in tomorrow night after work to test drive and evaluate the rear seat. Fingers crossed cause everyone knows if mama ain't happy no ones happy. Wish me luck.

I think the auto will suit your needs just fine. They are running quicker than the manuals on the track, however I know you aren't only looking into that aspect of the vehicle.

I haven't tried to put a car seat in my car but I do imagine it would be a TIGHT fit and riding in the back wouldn't be near as comfortable as a challenger (my father has a 2010).
