Alright guys, so here is the problem. I have a 99 Cobra Vert and had the clutch replaced with one from excedy which included everything TOB and alignment tool and when I had got it back from the shop, I would notice a small ticking noise from about 3000rpms and below. At First I thought that it just had to be broken in. After about 2months it was still there and was getting louder. I took it back to the shop that installed the clutch and found that the clutch fork was hitting the aluminum plate that protects it, so they actually grinded down the fork as much as they could to keep it from being noticed, obviously they failed. Since it was still under warranty I told them I wanted it done right. Well, they ordered a new fork from ford and a factory 11inch clutch and did the install again for no charge. When I got it back it made no noise whatsoever and I thought the problem was fixed. I put the car in storage and when I got it out last weekend, the problem started again. My question is that Is the clamping force too much for the clutch that if not used often does it throw it out of alignment. and Has anyone had this problem with their cobras?? Sorry for the long story, please help if you can.....

Thanks,

Marvin

I have the same problem but I had a centerforce DF clutch instaled. My car makes the clicking or whatever you want to call it, I have have been told it is my throwoutbearing. sounds to me like the same case with you. does it do it when the clutch is pressed down, if not, then it is probably your tob.

It makes the noise when you have the pedal all the way down and when the pedal is completely up. If the pedal is half way down, it does not make any noise....
