Nope. Don't have a Mustang. But my brother does. And it's the holiday season. So, for Christmas I was thinkin' of picking him up some new headlights for his baby. They're so yellow they look like turn-signals. Yes, I've seen the info on polishing the lights, but that's not much of a gift, now is it? I've done some searches on this board and on Google, and I've had a little luck, but still... I was hoping for a little more experienced advice.

What he's got: '94 Mustang Cobra convertable green/tan

I'd like to get him OEM replacements, that have a perfect factory look and finish... no aftermarket HIDs or projectors needed. That doesn't seem to be his style. And, if its the whole light kit (including turn-signals) I don't want the 'cleared' version of the turns, just the regular amber ones. Yep, he's boring like that, or a purist, if you prefer.

So, any referals you can give up? Good prices would be great. Good return policies would be cool too. Please, no eBay links... I want to be sure to get these in time for the holidays.

Thanks, in advance for any help. Just think, how often do YOU get car parts as gifts? Nobody buys me anything for my ride. Bastards! Maybe I'll just get him some socks.

or if you think they can be cleaned up, how about another mod/part for him? there are only about 20,000 cool parts out there - many that might fit in with his factory-liking personality.

welcome to the boards and good luck. (is your bro a member here?)

I'd say polish them up for him and then put a set of AFR's under the tree. I'm sure he would change his mind about wanting to keep the car stock if someone else was pickin up the tab. Anyway, if by chance he doesn't want them, I could trade you some socks and underwear for them. I will pay for the shipping of course. After all it is the season for giving

I like the smoked headlights myself but than again my stang is white don't know how they would look on green . Better yet if you can tell us what he has done to the car as far as mods we can give you some ideas. Head light kits run over $200 but for less than $200 you can get him a short shifter (sheeda or pro 5.0). What's you budget?

i would go from 50resto.com or a junkyard. but like has been said, what does he have done so far, there are alot better things out there than headlights that he might like. maybe a billet interior kit from upr.com. or a lightbar for the vert.

Cobra Headlight kits can be expensive....$200-$300 or more. Like someone else mention you might want to get him a shifter and just clean the lights. But if you're set on the lights www.50resto.com is a good place to shop for new OEM replacement parts.

He has one mod that I know of... under drive pullys that I bought him a couple years back. He's not really a mod kind of guy. Billit interior... naw, I'm not seeing it on the tan interior. I will grab the lights from 5.0 resto... that's a good price to me. Thanks for the help!

Out of curiousity, what's the difference between Cobra headlights and regular headlights? Do they come with the lower fog lights too?

Guess he should pick up some GT emblems with those headlights. They would make nice stocking stuffers.

I want some smoked headlights for Christmas, but don't think I'm going to get them from the GF or family members. Anyone want to buy me some, I'll PM you my mailing address.

IMO nothing compares to the smoked look. No matter what color the car is those headlights look best. Someday I'll have those and the smoked fog lights too.
