alright everyone i am new to this forum,and i am looking into purchasing my first mustang.i have always been a mustang lover but i have been waiting for my insurance to go down..now it is time....there is one particular mustang...it is a car that has lived in my county since new, a friend of mine was the last owner...he went of to the army about a year ago and his dad is now selling his car...it is a 94 mustang gt with 92k.modifications are as follows bbk springs,17s with new nitto nt555,40 series flows,75mm throttle body,k&n,underdrive pulleys.the first owner had it painted about 5 years ago white with a little pearl in the base coat...there was no damage just wanted pearl white...i know the shop who painted it and it is a very good job...although it was backed into about 8 months ago in the passengers door...i saw the damage before. and they had the door reskinned and paint matched perfectly...the last owner also installed nitrous...a nos kit...he went through about 3 bottles and it hasnt been filled for about 4 years...i am going to take the car to a local mechanic and have him check out everything and compression test it.now my first question is will the compression test tell me if the nitrous affected the engine much?and do you feel that this is a good buy?$6500?....thanx in advance for help sorry this is soo long.

First off, welcome to the boards!
The compression test will tell you if the HG's are fine. I doubt there is a problem if he had your typical dry nitrious system. Given he wasnt running a huge shot. Still get it checked though for peace of mind. I ran a good 9-10 bottles of n20 through a pretty much stock motor without any issues at all.
My only problem with the car is the 75mm tbody, thats really HUGE. I would change that right away for sure.
Im not to sure if thats a good price or not, i havent priced out mustangs in a long while. So ill leave that up to someone else.

I would say that price is average considering what it is... not an outstanding deal, but not horrible either... if you really want a mustang, that's a good one to go w/... modern enough to be safe, and a few other nice features, such as disk brakes 
but not modern enough to start to hinder mods, like the computer in the 96+ stangs... even timing is controlled by the computer solely on those and newer... if it still has the nitrous hooked up, and everything seems fine w/ the mechanic, I say buy it

The mustang markets can fluctuate a lot from state to state. I have seen bone stock '94 GT's go for about $5,000. They were pretty high mileage, but reasonable shape.
Most people will agree that those bolt on's don't really change the value much. For some people the value goes down when you put all of that stuff on. Just make sure you are not paying a premium because it's your friends car.
If you can find a better deal somewhere else, take it, it's better to do that than mess up a friendship when you offer him less than he thinks it's worth.

Seems like a good deal, take it for a test spin and see if you can notice any probs w/ it or not. I second the Notion of getting rid of the 75 MM TB, that is WAY TO BIG for that set up, I dunno what he was thinking. See if he still has the stock TB or just upgrade to a 65 MM but a 75 on a set up like that will hurt prefromance more then help it.

alright wow thanx everyone, this forum is awsome. first off the tbody may not be a 75mm thats what the dad told me, soo ill check that out.and on the n20 i believe its a dry shot, injected through the intake tube...?...i believe it was a rather large shot...probly around 150 or so...sooo if anyone else has any opinions on the affect on the engine that would be great...i dont really want to buy a modded car but this has been well taken care of and the paint is awsome....sooo wish me luck it goes into the mechanics on monday.thanx for all the replies.

That is a pretty big shot for a stock bottom end, but the engine should still be fine. I would agree about the 75mm t-body. Also, $6500 sounds about right for the car, mileage, and the mods. I would just do what you are doing, take it the mechanic and then take it for a test drive. Sounds like you have thought this one through.

dude, if it was a 150, pass! I don't care what it looks like on the inside, that is hella hard on a stock 5.0L engine... I'd say don't take the risk... it is hard on everything, from the rearend, diferential, driveshaft, intake, and everything inbetween... find another good deal on another car w/o NOS... unless you already bought this car, in which case, I wish you the best of luck.
well everyone ive got a new car in my garage!!!i picked it up last nite.im soo excited!now im looking for some shocks,probably going to go with bilsteins,where is the best place to get em?and ill probably put the stock tbody on for now.would that be better than the 75mm?and im lookin for some new 17s any opinions would be great. ill post picks soon.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new ride. I think you will really enjoy the car. I think you will be in for a big surprise when you switch to a smaller T.B. on how much more bottom end power your going to gain!

well, 75 is way to big, even for a 300hp car... 60 is just fine for you... and 65 is what you'd want to go to, but right now, that's even a bit much...
-17s aren't a necissity, but they would look good... however, 17s aren't going to fill that fender gap very much... I'd say some 18 cobra Rs... about $200 at most online shops...

thanks everyone i have been happy all day until i had my first problem.the last kid installed the cd player and wiring was cincy.somewhere it shorted and speedometer went out along with clock door chime and door lock switch.i have replaced one fuse but i havent fixed the speedometer yet.where is the fuse i havent really looked yet?...but it shouldnt be a problem.i am going to pick up other stuff today from the owner,stock tb,stock exhaust,and an unpainted xenon lip kit.it has new 245/45/17 nitto nt555s sooo i was just going to switch the tires onto some new 17s because i dont care for the wheels on it now.soo looking for something new possibly cobra rs although i live in a small county and there are about 5 or more sets of cobra rs rollin around.

A 150 shot is pretty hard, but with only 3 bottles its not anything to worry about. My buddy has a 225 shot on his stock 160k mile bottom end. He has also had it on thare for about 15 bottles.

well, check your fuses in your engine bay... little black box on the car's Left side... those tend to be for the more important fuses, such as spedo, door/light chime...
