this is the problem I'm having, I just finished my install take the car for a ride and smoke every where. I blew out the intake seal by the distirbuter, has this happened to anyone and how did you fix it? also how did you guys hook up the blowoff valve I have the vortech super blowoff valve, if its not hooked up right do you think that I might be losing some boost thru it?

You have to do the entire intake lower gaskets over again. Purchase the Fel Pro 1250's. Don't use the cork inserts in the front and rear. Just use a 1 inch bead of black RTV. You have to use the bypass valve if not the boost will return into the motor and blow out something. In your case it was intake gaskets. That's with the valve does. When you stomp on the throttle and let off, the boost needs to escape. Without the valve hooked up it's returning back into the motor. The valve hooks up between the throttle body and supercharger head unit.

ok thanks now what will happen if I do not have the valve relief into the intake of the s/c and just let it vent out of the blow off valve? thanks for the quick reply I was afraid that would happen. Also do you think that maybe Im getting such low boost only 5lbs? is it possible b/c I dont have it hooked up its blowing out through the valve? its there just i didnt hook up the vacuum line to it

If the bov isnt being activated you more than likely will lose boost through there. I did the same thing when I first installed mine. It sounds cool though.

thats wat I thought. guess its b/c there isn't equal pressure on the other sideof the diaphragm to keep it closed you think? man I hate to have to do the intake again how did you do your pcv valve?

and you dont have any idle problems? by the way which comp cams cam are you using I'm thinkin on switching are you happy with it?

No my idle is consistant and it doesn't buck or hesitate. I don't really have it attached to the filter. Its supposed to be but I just let it hang next to it. I did have a catch(soda can) but I never found anything in it.Plus I don't really want it to vent into the s/c.

My cam is just an off the shelf XE-264-HR. Its not too big. But I definitely would recommend comp cams. I am VERY happy with this cam. You could also look into an FTI cam. They are ground for your car. Can't get better than that. I only heard of them after I got my off the shelfer. Only reason I dont have one.

Btw My idle at start up is around stock(850 rpm) but when it warms up the computer likes to idle at 1000rpms. I did have idle problems at first, but I just kept patience with the pcm and it worked out a stable idle. This took maybe 2 weeks, but now it really does drive like stock. Until I get on it.

thanks for all your replies sleep, I appreciate it.ok now for more ques lol, I finnaly got a chance to do my intake gaskets today actually I just finished, car runs awesome but (there always is isn't there?) first I blewout my pcv valve this time and when I hook up the bypass valve it wont idle.I believe thats cause I just have it venting out not back into the intake but do you think the pcv valve popped out b/c of the bpv not being hooked up?

Boost is entering back into the intake, that's why it's popping out. Oh and make sure it didn't blow out the screen inside the lower intake or your gonna be chasing a huge oil leak back there.

I checked screen is still there but the pvc valve is still pushing back out.i have the bypass valve hooked up now I'm having idle problems think its just coincidence this happened b4 damn autozone pos iac idle hangs at like 3 grand sometimes its annoying! and im still only pushing 5lbs of boost this sux!
