So my 95GT finally spun a bearing...I've got a 351 Windsor at my parents house. How hard is it to swap in? What kind of parts will i need? Bellhousing etc... and will my gt40p heads work? Anybody and everybody help if you can...........

I swear one of these threads pops up every week or everyother week.

Search and u'll see its a pretty straight forward swap. The 351w has 1/2" head bolts where as those gt40p's have 7/16" i believe so u'll have to drill them to 1/2" to get them to work.

The 351 swap is supposed to be a pretty straightforward process, but there are some differences because of the taller deck on the 351. Physically, it'll bolt right in and keep the same transmission. If it's not a roller block and you wish to run a roller cam, you'll end up having to convert it to roller lifters. You'll need a different distributor and lower intake because of the taller deck height, and I'm not certain, but I believe the 5.0 accessory brackets can be made to work. The biggest problem you may encounter is finding 351 headers that will work with the GT40P heads. Nate is correct, too; you'll have to drill the heads for 1/2" head bolts instead of the 5.0's 7/16" bolts. You could probably get away with using a standard set of swap headers with 90° plug boots and a cut plug socket for access, but I can't verify that since I haven't personally done the swap.

94-95 brackets bolt right up since they only bolt into the heads. Just need a longer belt.
