Hey. i finally got my stang wired cause i switched it from efi to carb and yesturday i turned the key and the motor turned over. And today when i went to turn it over to try and start it the starter selinoid just clicked. then i tried to jump the starter selinoid and nothing happened. Then on the third try it turned over for a split second and the cables got really hot. Any suggestions would be great. Keep in mind the battery is in the trunk.and i grounded the block to the frame and the battery to the frame.

thanks dwp

Did the cable from the battery to the solenoid get hot? I would replace the solenoid. The only reason the cable would be hot would be if you were drawing way too much current for that gauge of wire.

i assume your battery cables are new (did you just relocate the battery?).....what gauge cables were used (if you have never started the car before with the relocated battery). double check connections and grounds. gotta be beefy with so long to go.
now if the relocation is old, forget what i said - im stupid. and follow the other advice. :D
