It’s time for you, the Ford Mustang enthusiast, to take back the aftermarket and rid it of posers, spammers, and price jabbing miscreants. The Drive9 Media (parent of StangNet) Staff are building a new site that will focus strictly upon positive experiences with manufacturers, sellers, and those that make & sell with this objective in mind.

Here’s how you can help get this started:

--Be an Official Member of StangNet.
--Provide the URL (web address) for the manufacturer/seller you want to nominate.
--Provide any positive commentary you deem necessary.
--Collect the information above and post it in a meaningful reply to this thread. Non-contributory postings may be removed at Staff discretion.

Foremost, we do not want any bashing or negative commentary. If you don’t have something good to say, we don’t want to include the company in the project: it’s like a VIP listing—you’re either in or out.

Finally, if you have any ideas for additional cool features that you think would help out the Mustang community, post up!

I purchased my SLP Loudmouth Exhaust from www.lmperformance.com and would definitely recommend this company. They had a great sale that was well below the prices from all other stores and free (and very fast) shipping. I can't comment on customer service since I had no issues and therefore no reason to contact them. That in itself is just as important in my eyes.

As far as other ideas, there is a website (www.shopittome.com - sorry and please delete if I shouldn't be posting that link) that searches certain high-end clothing retailers' websites for sales and summarizes all the sales in an email. It is actually extremely customizable in terms of the types of products for which it will search and how often you are emailed. It would be pretty neat to see something like this for car parts.

www.blueovalindustries.com has always treated me well. there is always the old fallback www.summitracing.com
The guys and girls at summit have always been top notch in helping me pick a part that I need and their delivery service has been great.

why would you not want negative feedback on companies that screw people over????? that doesnt make any sense to me.... i'd like to know what companies suck. it also makes the good ones look better!

This will be an internal index of sites. If they don't make the cut, you won't see them at all, so there is no worry about a "negative" organization within the scope of this project.

cjponyparts.com CJ Pony Parts- Ive ordered tons of parts from them, both performance and restoration. Ive had one wrong part shipped, but thats where they make the grade, they are right on top of any errors and will ship out next day, and pickup the wrong part no charge (happend to me once...5 lug wheels instead of 4lug). Their stampede club is worth it as well, an annual fee for 5-10% off everything in their catalog. On projects, thats alot of savings.

Of course , summit racing is very competitive also, but as far as mustang parts only, my vote is cj pony parts!

I have made two orders so far from http://www.rockauto.com and everything arrived in good condition, and a timely fashion. All parts worked and where of standard o.e.m quality. I consider them a good source for factory replacement parts.

www.mgwltd.com - great customer service for answering my questions promptly and fully and very fast shipping, left their place 2 hours after I ordered it, was in my hands within 2 days from GA. Thats what I call taking care of customers.

Also, I nominate 50resto, i wont go into details since it was posted above but, I've ordered from them many times and have never had a problem.

I have spent a lot of money with them over the years and have always had a good experience. Last year however, I had an unpleasant experience with them regarding redeeming a gift certificate that I had won at a car show. I sent them an email expressing my disappointment with the situation and received phone calls from both the general manager and Shannon Guderian himself, the owner of 50Resto, who personally handled my order. I am still a customer and have spent a couple of hundred dollars more since then. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Shannon is a businessman that knows who supplies the butter for his bread.

Stangnet (drive 9) should work with him.. I realize its a review site, but they SHOULD work hand in hand IMO.. find the sites to purchase, read the product reviews, take the marked by storm!

In other words, if one searches for a particular company and it does not show up, they might assume that this particular company is bad when in reality it could very well be an excellent company.

Conversely

I ordered a fuel pump and a few other misc things from http://www.summitracing.com/ and recieved them 2 days later. When I opened the box there was a "thank you" card, a gift certificate, and a sweet Summit ball cap I wear everday. Kudos to Summit Racing.

I've ordered a ton of stuff from summit over the years. They only messed up one time. They sent me the wrong header gaskets. I called the and the sent me a set that was better than what I had ordered.
I have ordered a few hard to find things from 5.0 resto. Never had a problem with them. Would order from them again.

Well, you can submit the name or idea of the company that might be "bad" per se, but we are not going to include the entity within the search index.

Does that answer what you are saying? The concept is rather circular, I know.

So i guess I misunderstood the point.

People should not just assume "if its not in the list then it is bad"

The list only states what is guaranteed to be a "good" company, however it is not inclusive

right?

i think it should go on a feedback star system, like eBays method. it would be more comprehensive than "good" or "bad". just those 2 ratings alone dont tell you much. This is an obvious flaw in your site that needs to be addressed

from my understanding, you wont see any bad ones anyway

what you say is a possible solution to the underlying problem that i addressed, and then some

i totally agree with you though. One person could have excellent service while another person could have really bad customer service at the same place. An example I can give off the bat is RPMOutlets.com A lot of people have had really bad experiences with them, however on the contrary, I had a really good experience

i might still just be confused, though

i also feel bad for crowding up this thread with all the reviews of companies. should we take this to the "Feedback Area" or something?
