HELP Buying a CAR, HOW GOOD OF A DEAL IS THIS????

Hello,
I am going to go look at a car tomorrow with the intention of buying it. I wanted to hear your oppionions to see if this is a good deal.

The Car:
1994 GT Coupe
MUSTANG GT. 347 STROKER W/FORGED PISTONS & NEW TKO 600 5 SPEED TRANS. EST.420 rwhp. Car is very fast. 94k miles on body, great shape. Cobra Front end. Crane Cam, Harland Sharp Roller Rockers, Edelbrock Alum heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 24 lb injectors, 190 fuel pump.70mm Throttle body, 70mm Granietelli mass air meter, cold air intake w/K&N, Hypertech Chip, crane ignition, MSD dist., BBK headers, BBK X-pipe, Mac Cat Back exhoust w/3in. chrome tips. BBK subframe conn., BBK upper & lower control arms in rear. Intrax 2" lower springs, March pulleys, Hotchicks Cast Plates, 4:10 rearend, Alum driveshaft, 4 wheel disc brakes. Only around 4-5000 miles on engine build and around 900 miles on trans, centerforce clutch, & bullet wheels/tires.Contact for more details, must sell for school. $9,200.

This was the add for the car, what do you think? 420rwhp seems a little liberal to me, even if the 347 had 450hp it would be roughly 375 or so at the tires right? Anyway, I was hoping that if I could get this car for $8500-8700 I would buy it.

Is there anything I should pay extra attention too when looking this car over?

Sounds fair, it probably is a very fast car if it runs right. Looks like everything is already purchased, so if you want a project to work on, you'll have nothing to do.

There is alot done to that car. I'll assume it has an oil pressure gauge, i'd pay close attention to what the pressure is, at idle when fully heated up.

Cars with built shortblocks can be hit or miss, i've seen some last years, and some only make it 2 weeks. It is a risk.

Just going to throw in what I have seen from the last 2 friends that have bought cars that have already been fixed up. Both turned out to be lemons. Only because these cars are usually driven really hard already, and some folks are real dishonest. So something may be on the verge of going out and they just sell the car to avoid making the repair. At least that was the case with my 2 friends. I would bring a very capable mechanic along or ask if you can get it checked.

I tend to buy stockers and mildly upgraded cars.

Make sure you can drive it, watch it idle, look for tailpipes blowing smoke. Ask if its been in a severe wreck. Offer 7500 and see what he says. Haggle and i bet you can get it for 8000. Good luck

Very fair, but do take your time to look over it, your just gonna be buying someone else's project so dont think that your in a way buying a new car it will still have problems from time to time, hell its a mustang. but it has good aftermarket parts already so i would not hesitate

Sharp car but I would ask for the dyno sheet. I would also ask to see reciepts for anything I cant see. Its real easy to say a car has a top shelf 347 stroker because it looks just like a stock 5.0. Nobody would know the difference till they blew it up and tore it down....but Im a sceptic. Been screwed too many times.

Exactly what i was going to say.
Car looks well taken care of, but anyone can paint their block and call it a 347. Take the 347 out of that car and you now have a 6500 car, not a 9200 car, so be very sure it's in there.

my 347 turned out to be a 331

but the sales sheet said 347 the order form from chp said 347, so that is not the end all to end all of solutions....

Definatly ask to see receipts and find out who did all the work on it. Did the guy install everything himself? If so does he know what he is doing? I don't like how he rebadged the GT as a cobra though.
