Help, car wont run right and it just started out of nowhere.
OK, first off I have been trying to track down a big exhaust leak in my car. It ended up being the stock h-pipe broke into 2 pieces right by the Pass o2 sensor. It has been running really rich because of this. The car was idling rough and I lost some power but that was about it. I went to work Tuesday night and it was fine when I got there. When I left work my car wouldn't start and if it did it was really rough then it died. There was a strong gas smell. After playing around with it for 10 min it started to run like it did with the exhaust leak and I made it home. Today when I went to work it started up fine but when I left work to run an errand while I was on the highway cruising the rpms would cut down about 1000 for about 5-10 SEC then come back up. It did this a few times then it died on me. I sat there for a few min then it started up fine and I made it almost where I wanted to be then it bogged down and died. I ended up having to get it towed home. I replaced the stock h-pipe with a bbk unit I was going to install later and I cleared the codes and the computer. I have spent all night playing with it and I have had no luck. At first it was an intermittent problem now it wont go away. I replaced the spark plugs and they were carboned up after trying to get my car to run at all. I now have spent 12 HR trying to fix my car and I need any ideas you guys can give me. Also my fp stayes good and steady untill the car dies. And I have a msd 6al box. I took it out and I still had problems.
