Went out to go to work this morning. Started the car and right away could tell something was wrong, the car was shaking. Then I saw that it said it was in Fail safe mode. I’ve had the car for a few months and this has never happened. So I turned the car off and back on and it went away. Any ideas guys? The only thing I can think of is two days ago the wife was trying to be nice and put gas in it (the only time she has ever driven it w/o me) I have no doubt she used the cheep stuff, would this cause this? Any ides are appreciated guys.

BTW I have the first gen SCT

My guess is you had a computer glitch.
A lot of electrical stuff is going on when you start a car.

I too have an early Xcal1 and have had my car go into Failsafe Mode once.
Mine happened while disengaging the cruise control.

It is pretty scary, but otherwise harmless.
Unless of course you car is really over-heated, or you continue to drive it in failsafe mode.

Unless it happens again.... keep on stanging.
Enjoy.

I would concur that its probably a computer issue. I have had engine failsafe numerous times after adding one too many parts without correct computer tuning.

Currenty I can't use my Moto blue twin 62mm throttle body as it throws me into Engine failsafe. In my instance, my understanding is that I'm running too lean and need a professional tune. I am in process of getting this done now.

Good luck
