Help Ford Parts Guys! re: GT-40 Exhaust Valve

I have to replace one exhaust valve for a 96 Explorer GT-40 head that I am getting done at a very reputable Hi-Po engine shop, the problem is the engine shop comes up with a part # F3TZ 6505A that can't be order in Canada. I research and order the exact replacement part # E4AZ 6505A from a Ford dealership, it arrives and is too small! 1.45, I need a 1.54. Now I'm screwed, it is supposed to cost around $75.00 Canadian for the 1 - F3TZ 6505A valve!!! OUCH!!! How can the OEM part be wrong?

I need some knowledgeable help here. Please!

Thanks.

Hey man, I'm a part's guy at a Ford Dealer in Alberta. Luckily You caught me working the night shift so I had some time to look into this. The original number you had (F3TZ-6505-A) DOES NOT Cross to the E4AZ Number. They are two totaly different valves. Although the E4AZ number is a direct replacement 96' Explorer Exhaust Valve and is actually the same valve used in the E7 Heads that came on 87 & Up 5.0 Stangs. These Valves are a 1.45 Valve. So I checked into the F3TZ number and it turn's out that valve fit's a 1995 SN95 5.0 Cobra, which I believe used a 1.54 Valve. (Unfortunatly the Ford Computor Catalog does not list the Valve Dia. so I'm not 100% Sure) But I'm 98% sure the F3TZ is the number you need, so order it up. There is Stock in the US on the valve. I checked. It can be ordered from any Ford Dealer in Canada you just may have to wait a week. If any dealer tells you they can't get it, then tell them they are full of ****, or you are either talking to the wrong guy. Any Ford Dealer in Canada can order part's out of the U.S. I Can.
ORDER: F3TZ-6505-A
Anyhow let me know what you do, and what happen's.(Or PM me) Like I said, I'm sure the F3TZ number is the one you need. Kind of makes you wonder if someone went and put the bigger exhaust valves in those head's of your's before you got a hold of them or if they are actually a different head all together??? And yes, the price is correct man.... OEM Ford Parts aren't cheap!
