My 302's air cleaner will be sticking out of my stock hood.. and i will not be able to drive in the rain, but instead of going all out and buying a steel cowl hood, can i just cut and put on my own hood scoop/cowl? And how about the fiberglass hoods... I hear bad things, and they are still spendy. So, if anyone knows if i can fabricate my own cowl, that would be awesome... thanks :D

Jegs sells rivt on scoops and cowls. They're not going to look as good as a fiberglass hood and you're not going to get as much benefit from it as a true cowl hood, but it'll work to keep rain off your breather.

As long as you buy from a reputable manufacturer like Cervines or Design Concepts, Harwood etc. you're going to get a quality hood.
