I just installed a aftermarket head unit in my car. And now the lights for the gauges and a/c arent working. I checked all 4 fuses dealing with the instrument cluster and found 1 blown. A 5 amp fuse. I changed that and that made the miles light and the lights at the bottom of the cluster start working. But still no guage or a/c lights. The big maxi fuse under the hood for the instrument cluster and pcm was ok too.

So anybody have any ideas. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the illumination wires for the cd player. But the illumination on the cd player works fine.

Thanks in Advance
Josh

Hey Josh,

Did you ever get an answer to this? I am having the exact same problem right now with my instrument cluster and A/C lights. All fuses are fine but cluster lights and A/C lights aren't working.

Thanks!

Jared

Okay... so I figured out what my problem was. After many many hours I noticed that I had connected the wrong wire from my new receiver. I had an "illumination" wire coming from the receiver that I connected to BOTH the illumination wire from my car AS WELL AS the illumination dimmer wire. Every time I turned power on it was blowing a fuse I overlooked that was for "adjustable illumination". So once I removed the connection for the illumination dimmer wire and taped it off solo (and of course replaced the burned fuse) my instrument panel is lit up like a christmas tree.

Problem solved! WOOHOO!
