Help. Intake manifold swap gone bad.

Just for your info here

There is a weep hole on the bottom of the water pump which can drip
if a prob develops.

Make sure you find the exact source of the water as it is hard to do with all
that stuff in the way.

You don't wanna take off or replace stuff you don't have to.

x2 I was new to cars and had a friend come over on a Sunday to help replace my water pump, as it was making a noise inside it. Come to find out, he found where the balancer was bad and smacking the bottom water pump bolt. So I had the wrong part, my car was in pieces, and it was Sunday. Autozone was the ONLY place to get a replacement balancer.

That one lasted 8-9 months.

Anyway, get in there and pull the pulleys off. It'll help you find the source.

I know a real nice guy (which shall remain unnamed) that had that happen
to him too

He was so sure the noise was a w p bearing going bad

He now has the following parts:

A high volume Stweart w p
A very nice Pioneer SFI h b
An OEM back up w p

A costly assumption on that Old Mans part ... if you ask me

I kinda figured there was a story behind it.

My friend even had me doing the ole tubing to the ear trick to listen to different areas of the engine while it was running while I was on the phone with him.

YUP, the sound is DEFINITELY coming from the water pump. (That's because the HB was beating the crap out of it. )

well the coolant leaks without the car even running. when i pour in coolant it leaks just as fast as i put it in.
