Only reference to an E1TE block I've been able to find is the 300ci inline 6 block.

Is the 1 a typo? Possibly. Either way, the date casting code does show June of 1988.

FoxChasis is the expert at ford part numbers, if he said the 1 in a part number means a monkey did it on the assembly line I would believe him.
But I believe everything noobz tells me too soooo

This is not the first time I have seen E1TE when it clearly should have been E7TE.

So, I bought the block. Got it for hella cheap with new arp head bolts, a full gasket set, plus everything the guy had new for this. Anyhow, digging it apart to see how bad she is, realized after popping the heads they are e6se heads and dished/flat pistons. Any thought of what this came out of?

That would be odd with a 1988 stamp on it.

E6 heads were used on the non-HO engines after 1986. There’s a date code cast into each head just like the block, and I bet they are 1988 dated.

That engine likely came out of a 1988 non-HO car such as a town car, or a thunderbird.
