Help me decide on what size tire.....

I have had a hard time trying to decide on what tire size for my 15x8 Draglites with 4.5" BS, yep I know I should have ordered the 5.5" BS but I did'nt do the research before I ordered them. Ok so I am trying to figure out wich of these tire sizes will look good and have the least of rubbing issues. On my mind are some 255/60/15 or some 265/50/15 these will be regular street tires and will not be daily driven.

PS I have 4:10's with an AOD on my 89 LX

maybe the 255's or sell the weld drag lites and buy proper back spacing. or use slicks on the 4.5's and get 5.5's and some 275's for the street.

I agree... You got the WRONG backspacing... It's gunna be hard to fit any tire to fit.. Remember.. it's gunna be an INCH farther IN... That's a BIG deal... Sell them, return them.. or whatever... Get 5.5 backspacing.

the 4.5 bs wheels will make them stick out an inch farther giving you another inch of room on the inside! but they will also stick out a bit. i would try to return them if possible but if you cant go for a 275/50-15.

Thanks guys, has anybody used the 255/60's or 265/50's? Im thinking the 265/50 may to short of a tire or is there not much of a difference between a 275/50 and a 265/50?

yep, 10 mm. LOL sorry.

A lot of people run 255/60's on those wheels, should not be a problem. Personally, I would roll the wheel lip and put 275/50's on there. They fit better on an 8.5" rim, but 8" is alright. Depending on the actual tire used (they all have different actual tread width) your tire should be right at the edge of the wheel lip. My 93 LX has 275/50's on 8.5" CenterLines with 5" backspacing. The outside of the tire is right at the edge of the wheel lip. They do not stick out. They do rub sometimes over big bumps.

Thanks! I'm leaning more towards the 275's, I already rolled the wheel lips just incase. If any of you guys have anymore pics of Draglites with 4.5 BS and different tires sizes please post them up. I'm planning on ordering tires tommorow.
