Alright, Im having a hard time deciding which way to go with the car. As it sits, power numbers are super weak sauce, a tune would fix this some, but at only 5 psi on a non intercooled roots blower with it being 725 degrees (yes I checked the weather channel) outside, it's never going to make any decent power. Right now it's only 20-30 rwhp above where it should be n/a, but the tune is jacked at wot, way too rich.

Now I have a buyer for the blower lined up, which would give me the cash to do a few different things, or at the same time, I could keep the blower and try to push it.

Option 1, sell blower, pocket a bit of the money and do other things with the car, and put a bottle on it, hopefully get a pi intake to line up with the weird SVO heads, and it should get into the low 400's on da jug, which I would probably be content with......for now.

Option 2, sell blower AND SVO Heads, buy Trickflows, cams and put a cheap PI intake on it, it should hopefully make mid 300's n/a, and 500ish on a 150 shot, the stock motor will not like this power, but it seems like it would last longer than a blower setup, because blower = hurting the poor stock motor at all times when wot.

Option 3, keep blower, pulley it, get a methanol setup, bigger inlet tube, 90mm maf, tb, etc, and try for 400 rwhp, possibly spray a small shot to get it in the 430-450 range.

Option 4, sell blower, get a used Vortech, pi intake, methanol, and hope the rods dont exit the block quickly

Option 5, sell blower, heads, stock shortblock, buy aluminum block pi motor from Explorer, add cams and bottle

Option 6, sell blower, get On3Performance cheap ass turbo kit, only downside to this is, tubular k member, a arms, and coilovers are required, which starts putting the price way up there.

The Vortech is tempting, as I know it can make power, and even more on a built shortblock later, at the same time, belt slinging, belt slip, etc, blarg. The Eaton is cool because it's hidden, but it has alot of shortcomings in the power department. The nitrous options are all interesting, but at the end of the day, you have to keep refilling the sumbitch. The turbo setup is the biggest bastard to install, and requires tubular everything, it wouldnt be so bad if just a k member would work, but having to get everything just to make it fit, kind of sucks.

Sell the blower, heads and stock shortblock, buy the aluminum explorer engine (they are hella cheap try here Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market) get cams and trickflow heads.

Or get an intercooled procharger. Way better then a vortec.

Im not big on the Prochargers, unless it's a D1 or bigger. Their smaller blowers pretty much HAVE to have intercoolers to make power, and most of them like the P1's come up short. I know of a car that picked up ALOT of power on only 1 psi more on a Vortech S Trim over an intercooled P1SC.

Plus Vortechs are reliable, and always have been. Hell, my buddy is overspinning his SQ trim by 13k rpms, and the blower has over 50k miles on it, still going, dont know how much longer though lol.

Im debating, I have the blower off right now, to check and make sure it didnt have a messed up intake gasket, it has been on the car for years though. Didnt see anything major, so I dunno if Im going to just sell it, or put it back on, arrrg.

Havent looked, but the blower has less than 10k miles, and has never seen anything other than the stock pulley. Not interested in the tork tech kits.

Well the D1sc is not bigger than the P1sc, it has a different gear ratio and a different designed propeller that makes it much more efficient. I think the you don't get the belt slippage issues as with the P1sc.

Bigger is a relative term, more cfm = much mo better. They rate those blowers close, but powerwise I have yet to see a P1SC do good on anything other than an LSX based motor.

The 03 cobra kit comes with a p1sc and it makes like 600hp. Thats enough for me. Completely stock I was 380/405 with NOTHING but the blower. Stock exhaust and everything. And that was only at 5400 rpm cause my maf was maxing out. I bet it would have been closer to 400hp if it could have run a little higher. And it was a Mustang Dyno so you know it would be more on a dynojet. I have NEVER seen a Vortec have numbers like that. They are always 360 or so.

I don't know why everyone thinks they suck. Everyone bashes them but has no experience with them. I have 20k on mine and it doesn't leak a bit of oil or anything. No belt slip issues. Easy install. And it sounds WAY better then a vortec.

How much power are you making anyways? Don't some of the Roushs come with more then 400 rwhp? You might want to do what Kilgore said and just get it tuned right. It will supprise you how much a tune is worth on a blown car.

Mustang Dyno throws the comparisons out the window, way too much operator input. I have seen cars put down numbers on a Mustang dyno that make no sense, they are supposed to "read lower" than a Dynojet, but lately I have seen alot of fugged up numbers come out of them.

Michael Kidd's 2v car, which was one of the few to make big power years ago, started off with a stock motor and a P1SC, car picked up 60 rwhp going from a P1SC at 8 psi, to an S Trim at 9 psi, s trim wasnt intercooled, the P1SC was. He blew alot of seals with the P1.

I have seen WAYYYYYYYYYYY more 500-650 rwhp S Trim cars, than P1SC's. In person, online, on the street, at the track.

With a tune, the car might MAYBE make 320-340 rwhp, waste of time.

I agree I have seen alot more fast s-trim car too. But I have seen ALOT more s-trim cars then p1sc cars. I would bet the ratios are about the same. For every p1sc car I bet I have seen 10 s-trims. And I haven't had any problems with the seals. Every blower company sends out a bad batch every so often.

60 rwhp is a lot. 20 hp of that can be attributed to the lb increase but I doubt the s-trim is 40 hp more efficient, especially on a mostly stock car. You can pick up 40hp with a good tune though. There are a lot of variables when you change blowers at different psi's. So if I swapped to an s-trim I might make 440 hp? I doubt it. I would probably make 360. Look at all the stockish s-trim cars on here.

I wouldn't be happy with 320-340 either. That does seem kind of lame for the ammount of money invested.

Did you check out that llink I put up for the explorer motors? They have a bunch really cheap by me, I don't know how many are close to you. Some 04's with really low milage too. How much weight does it save off the nose? 75lbs? That would be a pretty nice difference.

Good luck with your build. You have a bunch of good ideas, its just hard to decide what to do. I had to come in here and stick up for procharger everyone knocks them.
