Help me derice my car!

So, has many you know, my interior has been painted red by the previous owner .

My interior is black top with gray. Yes, in the picture, it looks tan, but it's not.

I think my stock interior should look like this. But I'm not sure. What do you think? Can anyone post their interior that matches my interior?

Now I have to find replacement parts fo rthe interior. Where can I find these parts? Obviously from Ford Dealership but they cost $$$.

Oh, BTW, I finished repaint the red hoodscoop and side scoop girlls back to black

It will, do not use paint thinner or any kind of nail polish remover with acitone in it. I would try to get them repainted or maybe look on Ebay for some replacements. Good luck that looks horrible, but at least you're trying to fix what some terrible person did.

lets say i know some one that is willing to trade interiors with you(its not me damit i have a 97 GT) she has a 99 mustang (should be exact fit) would u be willing to pay for shipping both ways? to get hers from cali to canada and yours from canada to cali?

she wants to paint her interior but she is unsure what color and ill show her the pics she might like it, so tell me if agree

i have no clue what shiping costs

do this and it will look pimp. take each part u have. sand it down with 220 grit sandpaper. do not use any that is rougher than that. when u have it down to bare plastic, take 1000 grit sandpaper and wet sand each peice. then wet sand it with 2000 grit sandpaper. 1000,and 2000 grit sandpapers can be found at a local auto parts store. now when ur done sanding with 2000 grit it sound be smooth as hell. take some car polish preferably the ones that reduce swirls and use it a couple times. it should come out to look good or very shiny but retain its natural color. u don't have to use a clear coat if u sand it good to have a high gloss shine.

I have that same interior... minus the red/pink bs. Those parts are the same color as the dash, or outer portion of the steering wheel. Original it looks awsome, one of the best two tone interiors I've ever seen. I'll see if I can get a pic posted after work tonight, it really does look good.

the heavy grit will break up the paint. then the wet sanding with fine grit will remove it without harming the palstic.

Why not just prime/repaint it back to stock looking? Seems easy enough. If it doesn't come out the way you want, then sand it.

You should be able to find those parts on ebay, then just put your red ones back on ebay when you're done. Someone out there will probably buy them...

I would paint the dash panels the same color as your dash, in a flat or eggshell texture.

Ever consider a light media blast to get rid of the old paint. Something that’s not so abrasive maybe, like walnut shell? You’ll likely still have to repaint it after that, since if the previous owner prepped it properly before painting, he should have scuffed it up a little to make the paint stick…and you’ll have to do the same. But at the very least you wouldn’t have to worry about it flaking off and that god awful colour showing up underneath.

I have spent some time working with plastics and paint (i worked at Fisher-Price and painted lots of stuff) and if I messed up on something and needed to strip the paint off, I would use thinner. I guess you would need to know what kind of paint it is on there, but I have never seen plastics harmed from thinner. I would start with the door cups/handles as those are really easy to come by and are cheap to replace. Take one of those and use paint thinner, then after you have spent forever rubbing all of it off, get some buffing compound and go to town buffing it. Stuff should come out like stock. If it doesn't work, then you really haven't lost much. You could also try using Bestine to remove it. Bestine does a really good job removing glues and paints. Good luck.

I used thinner on mine to clean up some spots where hair got on, it melted the plastic.
